CONTENT

After his concert in Prague at Žofín in 1852, Johann Strauss accidentally gets lost in the Kaiserstein Palace. He is pleasantly surprised that the musicians play his songs there. He is in Prague for the first time and is only 27 years old. He gets a little upset when he starts playing his father's famous Radetzky - Marsch, but then his attention is drawn to the commotion at the door - he tries to get a gypsy here that he says he wants to talk to the master. Strauss defends her, and she foretells his future.

… Hofballmusikdirektor, wife older than him, children - but hers, not his… he will owe his greatest achievements to his future wife and also to some gypsies…

And Strauss finds himself with the audience at the Na Vídeňce Theater, for which he will compose his famous operetta melodies for more than twenty years…

Mrs. Co-Director Geistinger is outraged by the audacity of a dark girl who sings "her" ballad, but still offers her a contract. However, she sings the aria again on her own.

J

ohann Strauss: Indigo - Balada Fantasky

The German-speaking tenor Szika and the baritone Giradi are compliments of Mrs. Geistinger. But Giradi reminds her a little tactlessly how she tore off her clothes on stage during the general's reign - and nothing could save him from the co-director's strong hand.

Johann Strauss: The Bat - A duet of Falke and Eisenstein

Let's raise a glass of wine to the tapping.

Miss Hirsch - soloist of the Theater in Vienna, is familiar to Strauss. However, he takes his courtship as a shabby attempt at acquaintance. Especially when our hero forgets that Johann Strauss is not here - in his future - and introduces himself like him. He knows Strauss personally, it will be almost fifty! The director is thwarted by the director, and she also suspects Miss Hirsch that she has something to do with the real Strauss, because he attributed an extra aria to the Bat. The girl is defending herself - she just showed the composer how she sings!

Johann Strauss: The Bat - Čardáš Rosalindy

Strauss is excited about Mrs. Geistinger's performance, but Miss Hirsch also wants to finally show what she can do.

Johann Strauss: The Bat - Aria by Adéla from Act 2

Baritone Girardi is a well-known figure in the world of operetta, and when he gets the role, he wants to have a decent aria there. For example, this one

Offenbach - how beautiful arias he wrote!

Jacques Offenbach: Duchess of Gerolstein - Rondo

Johann Strauss: Night in Venice - A song about a gondola

How about something happier! by Johann Strauss!

Johann Strauss: Tritsch - Tratsch Polka

Other competitors will also have a say - even if Lehár and Kálmán are more of a successor?

Franz Lehár: The Merry Widow - A Song About the Fairy Vilje

Karl Millöcker: A Begging Student - Aria by Ollendorf

Emerich Kálmán: Čardášová princezna - Entrance aria by Sylva

BREAK

Franz Lehár: The Merry Widow - The violin is playing

Oskar Nedbal: Polish Blood - Sweet Blondes

Johann Strauss: The Imperial Waltz

Here in the palm of his hand, Strauss has his third wife written, the last. He still writes a lot of music, but because he stood up for a gypsy girl, the gypsies will bring him the greatest success.

Johann Strauss: Gypsy Baron - Aria by Barinkay Homonay

Duet of Žofka and Barinkay - Aria of Hommanay - Aria of Žofka

All their lives they will want Strauss to write a real Viennese operetta. And in the end, someone else writes it for him - rather he just compiles it from his melodies. It will have a beautiful name after Strauss's waltz - Viennese blood. The gypsy sees the end of his life on the composer's hand, but people will sing his melodies and play them all the time - he will simply be immortal…

Johann Strauss: The Blood of Vienna - Duet of Countess and Count

Radetzky - March

Strauss's lottery

Johann Strauss: The Bat - Final of the 2nd meeting
