CONTENT
Undoubtedly, Leopold Mozart had an adverse effect on his son's state of health - after all, the number of days Wolfgang spent on the road was around 3,000. That's a quarter of Mozart's life. - But without his father's systematic leadership, an unrestrained, distinctive young man would be much worse off at court and at all in the higher social classes that were so important for his career…
It is difficult to judge today how WA Mozart's life would have unfolded without his pedantic, ambitious father.
Nevertheless, Mozart's father cannot be denied an emotional relationship with his children.
The character of Leopold Mozart makes Alois Švehlík, a member of the drama member of the National Theater in Prague, stand out. It is a very challenging role - on the one hand it is very atypical and above all it is full of archaisms and complex sentences. Just presenting them so that the viewer can understand them requires extraordinary feeling and acting discipline.
All the sheet music you hear will come from the time of WA Mozart. These are period adaptations intended for castle music parties, in which WA Mozart often took part during his visits to the Czech Republic and especially in Prague. Their authors are: Jan Křtitel Kuchař, Vincenc Mašek, Kajetán Vogel and others. We would especially like to thank the Czech Museum of Music for its help in finding the materials.
The selection of songs is not limited to the period of time from which the letters between father and son originate. We offer you a varied selection of Mozart's compositions, arias and duets - individual arias or instrumental works rather illustrate or underline the mood of individual letters. So you will hear the most famous arias and duets, but in addition to the more famous instrumental works, for example, the lesser-known "Kirchensonate" - one of a series of sonatas written for the Salzburg Cathedral.
With the production Ad honorem Mozart, we wanted to commemorate the great musical personality of the eighteenth century, but also the father, whom the world views in Forman's intentions as a fear of Wolfgang's life. We would also like to give space to us as a father who, in addition to being vain, strict, pedantic and godly, still sincerely likes his son.
