CONTENT
The year is 1797. There is another music party at Dušek's in Bertramka. On the occasion of the visit of Mrs. Constanza, the widow of WA Mozart, soloists from the Guardasonni Opera Company (performers of the premiere from 1787) come here with Mrs. Josefína Dušková and Constanzia Mozart to play Don Giovanni. Mrs. Dušková will not forgive to record the composition with which WA Mozart said goodbye to her and to Prague shortly before his death "Io ti lascio o cara, addio!".
Years after Mozart's death, however, he does not allow Constance to jealously listen to her husband. But then the two ladies agree on the roles in Don Giovanni - Anna, Elvira - but Zerlina is not here. "We'll argue about that!" And so begins the performance of a punished rascal in the instrumental arrangement of John the Baptist Kuchař.
I. Act
Adventurer and seducer of women Don Giovanni is looking for a new victim, who will be donna Anna. However, her father, the commander, rushes to her aid, but tragedy ensues. Giovanni kills the command in a duel.
Giovannni's servant Leporello is only worried about his master. After the incident with the commander, a new complication appears, the rejected wife of Giovanni donna Elvira. Leporello tries to explain to her that his master doesn't deserve her love at all: his mistresses number in the thousands!
At the village wedding, Giovanni is attracted by another pretty girl, the bride Zerlina. If Elvira and Anna and their friend Don Ottavi had not arrived in time, Giovanni would have managed to seduce Zerlin.
And again, Elvira is here to warn everyone against the treacherous Giovanni. However, he pretends to be deprived of his senses and leads her away.
However, Anna recognizes her father's killer and wants to avenge him.
Giovanni is still holding a ball without remorse.
II. Act
Giovanni likes the pretty chambermaid donna Elvira, so she and her servant Leporell exchange clothes and send Leporella for the longed-for Elvira, who thinks that the incorrigible seducer has finally set out on the right path.
Meanwhile, Giovanni sings "Zastaveníčko" to Elvířina's chambermaid.
Zerlina finds her groom moaning. He was tricked by a disguised Giovanni and beaten with his own stick and musket. But Zerlina knows what to do - the miraculous cure of love will cure everything in the world.
Mrs. Constanze won the battle for Zerlin this time, but what about Masetta? Mr. Ponziani was already surprised by him - now he could in the end, too.
Donna Anna's fiancé, Don Ottavio, is finally convinced of Don Giovanni's guilt and comforts Donna Anna - he promises to avenge her.
Leporello and Giovanni met together in the cemetery, coincidentally at a monument with a statue of a murdered commander. Giovanni mockingly invites her to dinner.
Anna comes to her father's grave to lay flowers and misses her fate.
The dinner to which Giovanni had provocatively invited the Commander was just beginning. Elvira comes to warn Giovanni one last time, but in vain. The commander is really coming. And because even now he refuses to repent of his sins, he must be punished with a well-deserved punishment: the rascal Giovanni falls into hell.
