Jiri Kubik - baryton

He was born in Krnov 8th of May 1955. Graduated from the Ostrava Conservatoire from professor Z. Divakova's class and from Academy of Performing Arts from class of professor J. Hladikova. In 1980 - first prize at A. Dvorak international competiton. Than became the several awards: Prize of Dvorak Society, Prize of Czech Culture Ministry , Prize of Czech Radio and first prize at Mozart competiton in Prague. After opera stages in Olomouc, Opava and Ostrava engagement in National Theatre Prague has come. He is regulary singing also in Prague State Opera and in Opera in Pilsen.

His repertoire covers today most of the main barytone parts of worldwide opera literature. Abroad is welcome almost as Figaro (Il Barbiere di Sevilla) and Don Giovanni.

Very rich is Mr Kubik's concert activity at home and abroad (from Lithuania, Poland, Austria, Greece and Germany to Japan).

He is cooperating almost with Czech Radio Orchestra, Prague Symphonical Orchestra FOK, Janacek's Philharmony and other musical ensembles.

As far as the parts from National Theatre Prague: Marcello (La Boheme), Almaviva (Wedding of Figaro), Don Carlo di Varga (La Forza del Destino), Adolfo (Jacobine), Paris (Romeo and Juliett), Marco (Gianni Schichi), Faninal (Rosenkavalier), Figaro (Il Barbiere di Sevilla).
